Drumming helps to release tension, dispel stress and negative feelings, and restore energy. Its beat represents our heart as we become grounded yet taken to a place deep inside where we are keenly aware of our mind and body, and the connection between the two. A drumming circle is very inclusive in that all people have the innate ability to create rhythm and can participate. Each person is given a rhythmic “voice” in this healing practice as we become connected through an invisible energy while united in purpose and community.
Our circle leader, Therese Yonikus, is studying with Christine Stevens an international teacher, coach music therapist and drum circle facilitator. Therese is dedicated to expanding her knowledge of drumming and will bring new insights and a range of techniques to our monthly gatherings.
Beginners are welcome. A limited number of drums and rattles are available. Please bring your own as well!
February Drumming Circle
February brings in our focus on the heart. Our heartbeat rhythm is a “drum” we have been connected to all of our lives. Our mother’s heart was the first rhythm we experienced in the womb. When we drum the heartbeat we have a deep connection to ourselves and to Mother Earth. Come experience the love of rhythm, the heartbeat and the rhythm of life.
$10 • Registration requested by noon on day of program.
Facilitated by Therese Yonikus
